WHAT'S ON? Hong Kong Music Agenda

ART & CULTURE

Who needs Glastonbury or Coachella, when you have some of the enchanting music festivals in Hong Kong right on your doorstep. Some of the festivals bring in big name bands that would show up any European lineup you care to mention, while smaller ones showcase local talents for a more hipster crowd. Plan your year ahead with our guide to the very music happenings in the city.

“GOT it all lined up for you

taking the hong kong music scene to a next level

Jazz music’s dedicated following in Asia’s world city means there are plenty of places punching out live jazz tunes throughout the year, but  the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival is when the big names from Asia and beyond hit town for a line-up of world premiere performances, exhibitions and workshops.

Last year’s festival was attended by 300 top-class performers from 24 countries including five-time Grammy-winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard, Grammy-winning percussionist Poncho Sanchez, Nat King Cole’s youngest brother Freddy Cole, and other star-studded jazz legends who hit the stage at the West Kowloon Cultural District - with the stunning Victoria Harbour as the backdrop."

If you're in the know for music and culture, you won't want to miss Clockenflap! It's Hong Kong’s largest and longest-running outdoor music and arts festival, a major highlight of the city’s annual cultural calendar, a three-day extravaganza in front of around 60,000 visitors from Hong Kong and around the world. Cultivating and celebrating creativity, the festival is an unrivalled cultural mix of local and worldwide talent with a mission to inspire individuals through a journey of music and arts. With a dazzling and near diverse selection of activities, list of musical acts, visual arts, film, awesome street food and so much more.
