Hotel ICON Partners with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) and the Food and Wine Academy to Host “South Australian Riesling Wine Tasting”
This collaboration brings together academic research and innovative hospitality experiences, allowing guests to enjoy premium wines while experiencing PolyU’s unique approach to integrating teaching with industry practice.
 

 

Redefining Wine Promotion in Hospitality
 
Hong Kong’s hospitality industry has long sought to enhance dining experiences through deeper culinary knowledge. The Food and Wine Academy, an affiliate of PolyU’s SHTM, is highly regarded on campus and aims to extend its expertise beyond the classroom. Through platforms like this event, the Academy promotes professional wine appreciation to industry professionals and hotel guests, fostering a broader understanding of wine culture.

 

 

 

 

 

A Taste of Collaboration and Academic

 

To promote professional wine knowledge, Hotel ICON hosted the “South Australian Riesling Wine Tasting” at the Timeless Lounge on the 9th floor. The evening featured a curated selection of Riesling wines and an engaging tasting session led by Hotel ICON’s Head Sommelier Danny Ho and Assistant Sommelier Cadence Cheung. Supported by the Government of South Australia and PolyU’s teaching team, the event offered guests an immersive journey combining academic insights with exceptional hospitality.
